Hold world-class events within a reasonable budget
When the great San Francisco earthquake and fire of 1906 reduced the city to ashes, the Merchants Exchange stood tall, pumping water throughout the neighborhood to help the recovery effort. Eight years later, when the resurgent city sought to unveil itself to the world with the legendary 1915 Panama Pacific Exposition, supporters gathered at the Merchants Exchange and raised more than $4 million in just under two minutes to fund the effort. More than a century later, our commitment to the community is stronger than ever.
We are proud to support San Francisco’s nonprofit community and nonprofit public interest organizations around the world. Because we understand the challenges faced by staff members and volunteers at nonprofit organizations, we are focused on developing creative solutions that will allow nonprofits to hold world-class events within a reasonable budget.
Our commitment to the community has made our venues — The Julia Morgan Ballroom, the Merchants Exchange Club and Credo Restaurant — the City’s premier event destinations for many of the country’s most dynamic, and successful public interest organizations including the ACLU, WildAid, the American Red Cross, the Sierra Club, Oakland School for the Arts, Habitat for Humanity, the Center for Justice and Accountability, CEDAW Awards for Women’s Human Rights, The Global Fund for Women, Urban Land Institute, The Guardsmen, Bay Area Council, NRDC, Catholic Charities CYO, Boys Hope Girls Hope, the San Francisco SPCA, the SF Food Bank, the Tipping Point and Spark SF (to name just a few).
